She was so at ease with herself I was in awe. Could that really be me? Comfortable in herself, without doubt that life would carry her through, that things are alright.
She had the big windows overlooking the countryside, the drive up to the house framed on both sides by cypress trees stretching up towards the sky. Passing by each and every one was like taking one step closer to my final destination. And between them I glimpsed paddocks with grazing horses and alpacas.
And she wasn’t skinny either, she’d just given up trying to be what others thought she should be and accepted her for who she was. Embraced every facet of herself and was just at ease. She laughed easily and was quick to smile. Warm and welcoming. Comfortable and confident.
She was almost childlike in her joy, because I could feel it just by being near her that she could drop into a dance at any moment as well as run around popping soap bubbles. True joy had a place in her heart, and from that sprung the abundance she surrounded herself with.
She shared her abundance freely and was effortlessly generous. Life seemed to be effortless for her. By comparison, I felt like an anvil, like a miserable old crone. The soul-shining light came from within her and touched anyone she met. It was amazing. The light, the joy, the sharing, the love. I was in tears with the acceptance I felt in her presence.
To laugh like her, invite life in like she did, would be amazing.
If I even have a snowballs chance in hell to be anything like her, I’ll do whatever it takes to become her.
